Position: Sous Chef
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and execution.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and maintain optimal levels of ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes while adhering to the restaurant's culinary standards and vision.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of Italian cuisine.
- Contribute to maintaining food costs and labor budgets while maximizing profitability.
- Actively participate in menu tastings, special events, and promotional activities to showcase our culinary excellence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant, preferably with a focus on Italian cuisine.
- Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
- Excellent leadership abilities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation and excellence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
