ABOUT THE ROLE
The Corrective Services division is accountable for providing support to the justice system and the community of Western Australia by ensuring the security and safety of detainees and prisoners as well as prisoners on community-based orders, with a focus on rehabilitation.
Chef Supervisor VSO4
The Chef Supervisor will work Monday to Friday preparing, planning and scheduling daily work activities for prisoners and staff to operate a commercial kitchen to produce products and services to support prison operations. The position provides on the job instruction, accredited training and supervision to prisoners who work in this area.
Chef Instructor VSO3
The Chef Instructor will work on a 10 hour shift rotation working every second weekend to supervise the day to day operations of the commercial kitchen including preparing, planning and scheduling daily work activities for prisoners to operate a commercial kitchen to produce products and services to support prison operations. The position provides on the job instruction, accredited training and supervision to prisoners who work in this area.

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent and fixed term, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Eligibility
- Chef Supervisor must have Certificate IV in Hospitality (with Commercial Cookery or Catering or Kitchen Operations speciality) and/or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and/or Certificate IV in Catering Operations
- Chef Instructor must have Certificate III in Hospitality (with Commercial Cookery or Catering or Kitchen Operations speciality) and/or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and/or Certificate III in Catering Operations
- Possess a current valid manual class “C” motor vehicle driving licence.
- Possess a current valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) accreditation (or equivalent eg Senior First Aid) received from an accredited training provider with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining.
