Boss Energy owns the Honeymoon uranium restart project in South Australia, which has a near-term clear path to production. The Honeymoon project is located in South Australia, is fully licensed for exports of up to 3.3mlb and is run by a strong management team which has leveraged off industry experts.
About the Role
The Chemist will play a crucial role within the process team, initially tasked with establishing the lab for production by ensuring all lab equipment is operational and necessary procedures are implemented. Once production commences, their duties will revolve around overseeing the analytical services of the metallurgical and analytical laboratory for the Honeymoon mine, supporting both process plant and geology operations and will report to the Senior Metallurgist.
The role will be FIFO from Adelaide charter terminal direct to the Honeymoon mine site on an 8:6 roster.
Responsibilities
- Tasked with developing the necessary methods and procedures to deliver timely and precise analytical data for geology/wellfield and process control.
- Implementing a strong quality control (QC) system to detect errors in analysis or methods at an early stage.
- Ensuring a safe work environment and following Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols.
- Responsible for procuring external analytical services when necessary.
- Perform specialized analytical or metallurgical procedures as directed by the Senior Metallurgist.
- Prepare and document samples for analysis.
- Conduct analyses as needed to ensure timely delivery of analytical results and maintain a comprehensive record of all test sample outcomes.
About You
You will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline such as biology, chemistry, or biochemistry.
- Prior experience working in an metallurgical and analytical laboratory at a remote mining site.
- Highly valued experience with spectrometry equipment, particularly ICP-OES and XRF.
- Familiarity with supply orders and maintenance work requests, preferably using systems like Pronto or similar platforms.
- Senior First Aid certification (Preferred)
- Training in handling hazardous substances (Preferred)
