Work Location: Iron Bridge Concentrate Handling Facility (CHF) Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge CHF project is located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
The role of CHF Operations & Maintenance Superintendent is to is to lead the CHF Operations & Maintenance team to ensure the Iron Bridge Concentrate Handling Facility is run in a safe and efficient manner, meeting production, availability, cost and quality targets and ensuring all activities comply with the Fortescue license to operate conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring all CHF Operations and activities are performed in line with Fortescue health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Safely deliver volume and quality, and operational cost commitments as per the monthly plan and weekly/daily operating plans provided by the technical services team.
- Ensure effective prioritization of maintenance resources and all other plant operations activities to maintain plant availability including safe & effective execution of plant ramp down and ramp up during plant shutdowns.
- Define and apply continuous improvement practices to maintenance strategies.
- Ensure maintenance frequencies are always adhered and performed safely.
- Personnel management (ensuring all training & competencies are up to date, succession planning, retention and career progression and recruitment of permanent and temporary staff)
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade Qualification required for role
- C Class Driver’s License
- Extensive experience in safely managing teams and fixed plant operations preferably in complex metallurgical plants
- Significant operational experience and understanding including maintenance prioritization and process control
- Knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act
- Solid demonstration of values-based leadership.
- Strong planning, organisational and scheduling skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- The ability to develop, implement and monitor improvement plans
- Ability to manage different tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
