Our client is seeking a Chief Engineer Developer to join their team in Canberra. The Chief Engineer is a senior leadership role and is responsible for leading a cross-functional engineering team. The role has authority and accountability for the engineering strategy and standardised organisational execution throughout the product development lifecycle for all engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creatively apply a wide range of innovative management principles
- Lead the technical integrity of designed products.
- Lead the development, review, and maintenance of the Safety Case for the clients products.
- Lead multi-discipline teams to deliver required outputs.
- Ensure engineering strategies and processes meet business objectives and operational needs.
- Support business and project development initiatives through targeted technical knowledge.
- Review and evaluate products and prepare long range development plans to attain objectives.
- Exercise financial control over the development of products.
- Initiate and support new business opportunities and assist in the development of responses to customer and industry inquiries including RFQs, tenders, industry requests for information.
- Review and evaluate technical work, schedule and co-ordinate to attain the delivery of program objectives.
- Provide leadership to mentor and develop direct reports to deliver continuous improvement.
- Make decisions concerning selection, training, discipline and remuneration of staff within the Development team.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering is highly desirable.
- Registration on the NER as a Professional Engineer and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification is required.
- FIEAust certification highly desirable.
