The Department is seeking an exceptional, driven and passionate health sector professional with an outstanding track record of successful leadership and delivering outstanding results.
As one of the largest health services in Western Australia, NMHS provides a comprehensive range of adult specialist medical, surgical, mental health and obstetric services. These services are offered across three tertiary hospitals and two secondary hospitals. Additionally, NMHS offers mental health, public health and dental services across WA as well as various highly specialised multi-disciplinary services.
The position reports to the Director General of the WA Department of Health and is also responsible to the Board of NMHS, a statutory authority that is legally responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, high-quality, efficient and economical health services.
Based in Perth, the Chief Executive of NMHS is accountable for the strategic and operational delivery of health services within the north metro region of Perth, as well as some statewide services. There is a strong focus on driving the NMHS strategic plan, with the aim of delivering excellence and innovation in health services, teaching and research, and contributing to the health and wellbeing of the WA community. Key to this is ensuring strong safety and quality performance, and robust financial management.
The Chief Executive also contributes to the overall strategic leadership of the WA health system, the achievement of whole of health system outcomes, including delivery of recommendations from the Sustainable Health Review and Independent Review of WA Health System Governance.
We are interested in candidates who have a proven and successful track record in senior executive leadership in a large, complex health care organisation who also possess a wide range of expertise and experience. Experience in large scale hospital redevelopment commissioning would also be an advantage.
