Job description

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (Full-time - Contract)

  • Supporting the WA community for 40 years
  • Baldivis Base with Perth South & Peel regional satellite locations
  • Autonomous role reporting to a dynamic and forward-thinking Board
  • Attractive Renumeration, Bonus and other Benefits

Who are Bridging the Gap?

Bridging the Gap has been an invaluable part of the Peel and Perth South communities for almost 40 years.

We believe in every individual’s right to community participation and economic independence and the self-esteem they generate. We achieve this through the delivery of a wide range of impactful programs funded by Government (State and Federal), philanthropy, and corporate support. Our programs are tailored to the needs of individuals with specialist support provided to youth at risk, women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and culturally and linguistically diverse people.

Our service delivery is as diverse as our client base. We have extensive experience in training, career development, and employment placement but we recognise that this can be difficult to achieve particularly for those who have been out of work for extended periods. Issues such as homelessness, poor mental health, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol abuse are barriers that need to be addressed before sustainable employment can be achieved and we have been growing our business in these areas to address these needs.

“Empowering people – building communities” is more than a slogan to us. It reflects our core values and our unwavering commitment to the communities we serve along with our dedication to helping others to help themselves.

You will lead a dedicated team that consists of specialist case managers, allied health professionals, and training specialists who are members of the communities they serve. We are an employer of choice who values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Why consider working for us?

If you have the skills and experience that we need, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a small and dedicated team that is committed to delivering programs that benefit the community.

You’ll have ownership of all legal and policy requirements and be responsible for all statutory and internal financial functions as well as providing advice to the Board on all financial matters.

In conjunction with the Board, you’ll formulate and execute the organisation’s strategic plan and be responsible for the sustainability, success, and continued growth of the organisation.

You’ll also have responsibility for developing and implementing business development activities including identifying new business programs, generating additional revenue from existing programmes, and the development of new revenue streams from fundraising and social enterprise opportunities.  All these allow the organisation to continue achieving and expanding its mission, benefiting the community it serves.

What’s the role?

We’re looking for an experienced and self-motivated leader who can bring their expertise and experience to our business.  You’ll be proactive, enthusiastic, and act as a change agent with a mind for continuous improvement and a focus on delivering growth and outcomes.

You’ll lead a range of disciplines within the business, so you’ll need to have excellent financial, strategic, stakeholder management and business development skills.  Ideally, you’ll have experience reporting to a Board of Directors.

This is a unique role requiring someone who has experience running a similar business, working with Allied Health professionals, NDIS and disability services.  Building relationships, management skills and influencing are key.

If you’re looking for a role that delivers a positive impact in the community and allows you to flex your professional muscle, then this could be the opportunity for you.

What we’ll offer you.

The role initially comes with a two-year contract with the potential for full-time permanency after that. The role provides attractive and competitive remuneration, including a very generous bonus opportunity and a company funded phone and vehicle.

How to apply.

Apply by submitting your CV and a covering letter outlining your interest, experience, and suitability for the role and how you would add value to Bridging the Gap.

We look forward to hearing from you!
