About the Role:

We are actively seeking applications for our newly created Chief Information Officer (CIO) position. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for leading the Information, Communications and Technology team, where you will oversee all aspects of technology infrastructure and operations, systems development, and digital initiatives.

This position is integral to our senior leadership team, where you will partner closely with various senior stakeholders across our business and lead the development of our digital roadmap. This will include options for digitising core services to our clients and enabling future business opportunities aligned with Nova's strategy and pipeline opportunities.

The position is primarily responsible for:

  • Strategic ICT developments underpinning Nova's corporate, engineering, business, and digital agendas.
  • Operational leadership, delivery, and support of a broad range of Information, Communication and Technology services and solutions across commercial, operations and engineering arms of the enterprise.
  • Improving the organisations digital capacity and capability by providing scalable, robust solutions to solve business problems.
  • Leading the digital change agenda in the Nova business to improve organisational capacity and capability in an era of intense change and competition.
  • Administration and oversight of the Information and Digital governance framework with emphasis on planning and prioritisation.
  • Overseeing key priority areas such as Cyber Resilience with a focus on sound management of digital risks.

Please note: Interstate and occasional international travel will be required in this role and our preference for location would be Adelaide due to a large number of the team residing there, however, all applications are encouraged and will be considered.

What we would like from you:

  • Effective leadership in inspiring a team to deliver great solutions and services that enable the business to succeed.
  • Significant experience in managing the provision of information and digital services in a large, complex organisation.
  • Comprehensive and contemporary knowledge and understanding of Information, Communications and Technology, its application, implications and potential, and the future direction of new innovations and technologies.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning experience, encompassing strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills, the ability to set direction and use sound judgment to make critical decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change with the view of continuously improving the organisation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Adaptability, a positive attitude towards change and the ability to develop creative solutions to new challenges. Commitment to a culture of openness, flexibility, and cooperation to achieve excellence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline e.g. Information Management/ Information Technology, and/or demonstrable extensive experience in managing the delivery of a significant portfolio of technology services.
  • Australian Citizenship with ability to hold and maintain an AGSVA security clearance.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
