About the role
The Chief of Staff manages the activities of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers Australia, providing guidance and leadership support to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the CEO.
The Chief of Staff leads the Office of the CEO’s strategic initiatives, oversees programs of work, projects and communicates objectives across Engineers Australia.
The role supports the CEO align our strategy by building systems of information flows, collaboration, decision making and accountability in the Executive team.
This role will be based in Sydney. There will interstate travel for this role depending on the CEO’s requirements.
As our Chief of Staff, and strategic partner to the CEO you will:
· Lead the Office of the CEO with the Board, the Executive Team, Office Bearers and employees. Manage and advise on CEO priorities
· Prepare and manage communication with stakeholders, speech writing and presentations for meetings, town halls and external engagements
· Manage relations with internal and external stakeholders
· Manage Executive Team meetings and priorities
· Support decision making and initiative implementation
· Provide advice on Engineering industry developments
· Lead a variety of exciting projects and initiatives
Here’s what we’re looking for:
· Proven experience as Chief of Staff, business management or business operations with a focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration in the Engineering industry, Government, or similar complex enterprise.
· Demonstrated experience in relationship management and external engagement, with a proven ability to cultivate and leverage an extensive network of external contacts and stakeholders.
· Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives at an enterprise level.
· Tertiary qualifications in business administration or a relevant field.
· A natural leader, with the ability to build positive working relationships, and influence leaders and organisation.
· Technical knowledge and understanding of the world of Engineering.
· A sound level of judgement, with the ability to navigate complex matters and confidently through ambiguity.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a high attention to detail and ability to produce high-level executive communications and presentations to Executive, C-Suite Secretaries of Federal and State Governments.
