Chief Operating Officer

Position:Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our team at Higher Ground, Australia. As the COO, you will play a crucial role in driving our company's growth, ensuring quality assurance, and expanding our international presence. 

Role Overview: 

At Higher Ground, we are passionate about pioneering new paths in experiential learning, and we are actively seeking an individual who will drive innovation and development within our organisation and programs. As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing both the operational and strategic aspects of our organisation. Working closely with our CEO and leadership team, you will lead key initiatives to foster growth, maintain quality standards, enhance customer satisfaction, and support international expansion. Your commitment to excellence will be instrumental in achieving our company's goals. 

Core Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning & Execution: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute a comprehensive 4-5 year organisational development plan that aligns with our vision and mission. 

Quality Assurance: Lead efforts to secure accreditation from the Association of Experiential Education (AEE), upholding industry-leading standards. 

Operational Development: Review, refine, and improve our operational capabilities to accommodate future growth. 

Sales Growth: Develop and implement strategies to achieve a 10% year-on-year growth in domestic sales and support the CEO in expanding our international business. 

Client Retention: Maintain a 100% client retention rate through strong relationship management and exceptional service. 

Customer Service Excellence: Exceed a Customer Service Index (CSI) rating of four in all delivery areas, prioritising customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a similar role. 

A working understanding of the outdoor education and experiential learning industry. 

Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, operational development, and team leadership. 

Proven track record in sales growth and client relationship management. 

Commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. 

Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field desirable.
