Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) was established in 1996 and is the leading public Oral Health agency in Victoria. We help to provide Victorians with quality Oral Healthcare through The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and by purchasing dental services for public patients from more than 50 community health agencies throughout Victoria.

About the role
Reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Oral Health Officer will provide high level strategic and operational advice to the DHSV Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Team. The role will lead clinical governance, clinical leadership, quality and safety systems of current and emerging models of care to deliver best practice, safe and high-quality care to the people of Victoria. The successful applicant will:
- Chair the DHSV Oral Health Clinical Council and committees relevant to the position
- Develop and implement key organisational programs to support clinical leadership, culture and practice.
- Lead DHSV’s Clinical Governance Framework and Quality systems in-line with best practice principles and relevant sector developments for the delivery of safe and high-quality care.
- Initiate, develop and promote positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent DHSV on key leadership and policy issues at a state and national level.

About you
- A registered dental practitioner with relevant postgraduate qualifications.
- A strong knowledge of public and private dentistry and government health services legislation, regulations and policies.
- Experience in leadership, management and resource utilisation within a public healthcare setting.
- Extensive knowledge of key market drivers, industry players and latest developments in the health industry and its impact to the organisation.
