Job description

We are seeking an experienced Chief People Officer to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This role will oversee the People & Culture division, contribute to the RTA's organisational strategy and provide expert leadership to the Human Resource Services, Learning & Organisational Development and Communication & Education functions.
This position is a 3 year fixed-term role and is located in the Brisbane CBD.

The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) is the Queensland Government statutory body that administers the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008. The team at the RTA is dedicated to ensuring the rights and responsibilities of both tenants, property owners and property managers are upheld. About the Role
The Chief People Officer is a direct report to the CEO and a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This role will contribute to the organisational strategy and will lead three teams in a complex environment. The three areas that fall under this remit are HR Operations, Learning and Organisational Development, and Communication and Education.
The position will take responsibility for building and protecting the RTA's reputation as a high-performing service provider across a multitude of customer and stakeholder requirements. It will also ensure the monitoring and evaluation of performance, processes, and outcomes to ensure that people and communication practices are sustainable, effective, and efficient. It will be expected that you will implement innovative and digitised employee experiences to fit the needs of the changing employee demographic.
This role will lead the provision of strategic advice to senior leaders within the RTA on complex and sensitive issues in the areas of human resources, organisational development, payroll, industrial relations, change management, and communication strategies.

To be successful in this role you should be a visionary HR leader who enjoys operating in a contemporary and high-performing culture. You will be able to strategically drive continuous improvement in your teams and be able to operate in an environment where stakeholder management and engagement are critical. With an ability to utilise data to inform decision-making and experience in working harmoniously with Unions, you should also be comfortable operating in a highly regulated environment. You will also be able to display experience beyond just HR, with experience in Communications, L+D, and Stakeholder Engagement being particularly relevant.
