The Role
City of Parramatta has property assets with a replacement value in excess of a $1 billion. The Chief Property & Assets Officer acts as nominal owner for all of Council’s property assets including office, industrial, retail, residential, carparks and public domains.
The Chief Property & Assets Officer (CPAO) plans future property needs, acts as Council’s nominal tenant representative and leads the delivery of property initiatives, paid parking and asset related services. The CPAO leads and advocates innovation and a customer focused culture within the team and across the business.
The CPAO is responsible for:
- leading a multi-disciplinary team and building a culture of excellence
- achieving and sustaining long-term functional, financial and environmental performance for Council’s real property portfolio
- crafting and implementing strategic asset management plans and programs
- guiding the building and facilities management team to deliver superior asset life cycle efficiency
- ensuring the property leasing team maximise desired community and commercial outcomes
- championing the strategic review of the council’s future accommodation needs
- leading the team on opportunities to add value to the council through strategic development management
- driving the development and management of the Car Park Strategy and Parking management framework
Applicants must have strong leadership skills and demonstrable experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of property professionals. An understanding of government process, local or state, is desirable but not mandatory. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing property asset management is required.
The opportunity will suit a confident industry professional who is comfortable working alongside their divisional peers - the Chief Finance Officer, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Governance & Risk Officer. This appointment will pay up to $275,000 inclusive of superannuation.
