About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Child and Family Consultantto work collaboratively to provide holistic assessment and support planning and connect families to services.
- Part time 0.8 (60.8h f/n) opportunity.
- Level 5 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $93,860 – $98,112 (pro-rata) plus super.
- Government funded until June 30, 2024, with possible extension.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting Child Safety in engaging with the Child and their family.
- Enabling, supporting, and informing a holistic response to the Child and their family.
- Undertaking a targeted assessment of a family’s strengths and needs.
- Assisting the Child and their family to access the support and services they need.

About You
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Allied Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services).
- Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
- At least five (5) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or experience working in similar roles.
- Specialist skills in at least one of the following: drug and alcohol, mental health, family and domestic violence, child development.
- Expertise in family functioning, parenting and attachment, impacts of trauma, including assessing family relationships and parenting capacity and functioning.
Other Requirements
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
