About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Child and Family Practitioner to support children 0-5 years in early learning development improving educational outcomes through delivery of supported playgroups and home visiting, underpinned by the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a) https://education.unimelb.edu.au/3a. Part time opportunity (0.4FTE 30.4 f/n). This role is government funded until 31 December 2024, with possibility for extension.
This position is classified Level 4 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $82,046 - $88,288 (pro-rata) plus super. We offer excellent salary packaging options which can significantly increase your take home pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake training required to become a 3a Practitioner, support delivery of 3a playgroups and deliver 3a supported home visits.
- Work collaboratively with the PELD team to ensure parenting strategies and child behaviour support is in line with appropriate child development and parenting capacity.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies utilising an ecological model to ensure families’ goals are achieved.

About You
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
- Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
- At least 2 years’ experience providing intervention and support services to families, caregivers, young people, and children.
- An understanding of early childhood development and impacts of trauma, and support required for children with additional needs and engaging them in an educational setting.
