Child And Maternal Health Nurse

Embark on a fulfilling journey, gaining hands-on experience in Child and Maternal Health within an Aboriginal Community Setting. Located just 30 minutes from Dubbo and an hour from Mudgee, this role promises an rewarding regional working experience.

Package Details:

• Competitive salary of up to $90,000 per annum
• Up to $16,900 can be Salary Sacrificed
• Gain valuable experience in Aboriginal Health and Child Health
• Receive one month of accommodation support
• 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Aboriginal health workers for pre and postnatal checks
• Visit newborns and mothers within the first two weeks of birth
• Organize and conduct health checks for expectant mothers
• Administer baby and home checks
• Conduct health checks in community preschools
• Participate in the innovative New Direction Program, supported by on-site doctors and GPs
• Perform immunizations and developmental assessments
• Conduct maternal screening
• Provide guidance on parenting, settling, and behavioral management.

Preferred Criteria:

• Registered nurse
• Certified midwife
• Accredited Child and Family Health Certification
• Immunisation accreditation or willingness to obtain
• Commitment to the principles of Primary health care
• Knowledge and understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal people and communities
• Working with Children and Criminal Record check clearances and a current NSW Driver's License
