Fairfield City Council is seeking to employ a Child Care Assistant who is enthusiastic, has a passion for working with children and their families from diverse cultures and backgrounds, who enjoys being challenged and supported through professional development and team environments.
Role Expectations
- Certificate III in Children’s Services.
- Current Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk Certificate and Child Protection Update 2023
- Current First Aid Certificate, Asthma Certificate, Anaphylaxis Certificate and CPR Certificate, as approved by ACECQA
- Working with children check
- Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and the Education & Care National Regulations 2011
- Demonstrated programming skills
- Proven experience as an effective team player
- Experienced and confident in providing a developmental program and curriculum for children aged between 0 and 6 years with incorporation of the EYLF and NQS
DESIRABLE:
- Excellent communication skills including skills in managing conflict
- Proven experience as an effective team player
- Experience and/or passion in working with children with additional needs and from a culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- 12 month temporary position, 76 hours per fortnight
- This position is a Grade 2, salary range is $60,098p.a. with progression to $66,341p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $70,399p.a.
