About the Role
This part time position is responsible for planning and implementing a nutritional menu for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age at one of our Early Learning Centres. As the successful candidate you will bring a sound knowledge and experience in nutritional standards, menu preparation, food hygiene practices & kitchen management,
On a daily basis you will:
- Lead a team to implement a nutritious menu that caters for all dietary requirements of the children
- Plan menus to meet centre requirements within the allocated budget
- Assist the kitchen team with food preparation
- Maintain a hygienic kitchen
- Complete all documentation in line with the statutory requirements
About You
- The successful candidate should have previous experience cooking in an Education and Care Centre for children aged 0-6 years.
- You will have extensive knowledge of nutritional needs of children including special dietary requirements.
- You will bring cultural awareness and have the ability to cater for a culturally diverse group.
Qualifications
- Minimum Cert III in Cookery, Commercial Cooking or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- A Certificate in Food Handling, Nutrition and Menu Planning
- Current Working with Children Check
- First Aid certificate (Desirable)
What's on offer?
This is a permanent part time position of 22.5hrs per week.
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $68,638 to $75,563 pro rata plus 11% Superannuation.
