SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Social Work counselling in order to provide high quality counselling care to clients of SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Service consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.This role includes responsibilities for consulting across SESLHD D&A in the area of expertise, provision of supervision, leadership of quality improvement initiatives, leadership in evaluation and reporting on services, development of service improvements, development of education tools and the teaching of other health care colleagues, and students on clinical placement.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community.   • Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and AASW and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
  • Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Social Work Counselling with demonstrated ability to provide consultation within and external to the organisation.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational level.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, and development of education tools or programs to support others in providing service excellence.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice to managers on clinical service development, practice change and service redesign.
