Childcare Cook - Part Time
WHO WE ARE:
Quantin Binnah Community Centre Inc. is a not-for-profit centre that offers a variety of services and programs to local residents of Wyndham and Hobsons Bay and the surrounding communities. These include Playgroup, Little Kinder, Kindergarten, Long Day Care, Before School Care, After School Care, Vacation Care, Adult Community and Further Education, a variety of Community Development programs, Maternal and Child Health services and Cafe QB.
The Role:
We are looking for a talented Centre Cook to join the team at our Quantin Binnah Childcare service, to plan and prepare a nutritious and exciting menu for the children. Working Part Time hours a well-equipped kitchen is available for you to create food magic.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements and allergies, labelling/signage on food accordingly
- Support the health and wellbeing of the children through planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks
- Order food supplies in consultation with the Childcare Director
- Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks
- Work as part of a team to create a safe, nurturing, welcoming and educational environment for children
Who we’re looking for:
- Someone that is available Monday to Friday
- Hold a Food Safety Supervisor certificate or equivalent
- Experience in a long day care setting
- Experience working with dietary requirements and allergies
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive under pressure
- Creative, and passionate about food and providing high quality of food service
