We are currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Hand to join our close-knit and supportive team in Warriewood, NSW. This is a permanent part-time position working Monday to Friday, 4-5 hours a day (hours are negotiable for the right candidate).
As a Kitchen Hand, your core responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Basic food preparation, assist in preparing and cooking all meals and snacks daily as required for the service in consultation with the approved menu.
- Ensure all meals and snacks are ready by the time specified by the classroom routines.
- Ensure all food preparation tasks that you are assigned are carried out in a timely fashion, to a high standard and within food hygiene and dietary guidelines.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen including bench tops, equipment, appliances and utensils.
- Assist with the weekly stock-taking and ordering.
- Comply with all relevant legislation, early childhood regulations and all policies, procedures and work guidelines.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand and working within a childcare setting (desirable but not mandatory).
- Relevant qualifications in Hospitality and/or Commercial Cookery (desirable but not mandatory).
- Time, task and priority management, and the ability to follow instructions to ensure the safe and efficient running of the kitchen.
- Ability to contribute as a team member to Workplace Health and Safety issues in the centre.
- Ability to maintain high-quality standards of health and hygiene within the workplace.
- Valid Working with Children Check and Food Handling Certificate First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain).
- Valid Basic Food Handlers certificate
