Term full-time vacancy for 12 months.
The Chinese Community Liaison Officer is a new role designed to work directly with the members of the South Australian Chinese community to encourage and build partnerships between police and other stakeholders (or community groups). This role will support crime prevention and community safety initiatives. The incumbent will enhance service delivery to the Chinese community, especially within the Eastern Central Business Dirict.
Chinese Community Liaison Officer is accountable to the Officer in Charge of Eastern District for contributing to the preservation of law and order, crime prevention and assisting in obtaining information from the community.
The incumbent will work directly with sworn officers within Metropolitan Operations Service (MOS), and provide assistance to police in regards to matters effecting the community. The incumbent will be expected to have a level of autonomy within the role and the ability to work independently. They will be responsible for developing positive working relationships between members of the Chinese community and SAPOL staff, as well as developing and conducting programs that contribute to the improvement of wellbeing, resilience and special inclusion of members of the Chinese community at a local level.
The incumbent will enhance the opportunity for police to gather information via positive stakeholder engagement, and use a problem solving approach to prevent and reduce the opportunity for crime within the Chinese community.
Special Conditions
· The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
· The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
· Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
· The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
· Must be willing to complete `Statement of criminal associations or relationships' and forward it to the Director IS&T, outlining the nature and circumstance of the association (if any).
· Must be willing to apply, qualify for, and maintain a baseline vetting clearance.
Salary
ASO4 - $75,430 - $79.070 per annum.
