About the Church
The mission of Malvern Uniting Church is to be an Open House for a Flourishing Community through the Gospel of Jesus. Consisting of all generations, it is in a period of significant renewal where all parts of church life are focused on taking the best elements of tradition into a new season firmly focused on contemporary culture. Worship is an essential aspect of this and shall incorporate elements of the traditional in contemporary expression.
About the Role
The primary role of the Church Administrator is to oversee and enact the administrative functions at Malvern Uniting Church, located in Malvern, South Australia. This role has primary responsibility for administration, facilities, and office management, and some aspects of finance, ensuring effective and efficient operations. This will require someone with initiative, strong organisational skills, an eye for detail, strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and an understanding of a church-based ministry context.
- Committed to Jesus Christ, open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and whose life evidences the fruit of the Holy Spirit
- Demonstrated skills and experience in administrative systems in a small to medium company or community organisation
- 1 year part-time fixed term opportunity, 16 hours per week.
Key outcomes and associated activities
- Run the Church Office, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed through efficient systems, and ministries have the administrative support they need
- Undertake necessary purchase of supplies as directed by the Minister
- Manage the production of a suite of high-quality communication publications, website content and social media presence, and liaise with graphic designers
- Manage the venue hire bookings for church events and external bodies, and ensure facilities are ready for use
- Receipt moneys received at the Church Office, summarise in a cash receipts spreadsheet for the volunteer counters
- Liaise with the Treasurer and other volunteers to raise invoices and record payments in accounting software for hall hire, weddings, funerals and other events.
