The Uniting Church in Australia (Synod of South Australia) comprises more than 250 congregations conducting extensive and diverse mission activities across the state. An excellent opportunity exists for a full time (1.0FTE) Human Resources Administrator to join the Human Resources team.
The Human Resources team provides leadership in Human Resources matters within the Synod of South Australia. This includes a full range of generalist Human Resources support, advice and facilitation across the Synod, presbyteries and congregations.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Human Resources the Human Resources Administrator is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position, with responsibilities for providing administration and support for the placement of ministry personnel within the Synod of South Australia. Providing administrative support to congregations and ministers within the Synod of South Australia, is a key aspect of this position. The Human Resources Administrator will be an integral part of the Human Resources team.
The Human Resources Administrator has key responsibilities which will include resourcing and administrative activities for the committees that oversee placements of ministry personnel. The management of ministry records and documentation relating to the conditions of placements, employment arrangements, relocations and leave provisions; form a key part of this position.
The Human Resources Administrator will demonstrate a commitment and passion towards excellent Human Resources practices. An understanding of contemporary Human Resources practices in the context of valuing people in a healthy workplace culture is essential to be successful in this position.
The successful candidate is required to have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, coupled with previous experience in a similar position or a related field. Business management qualifications would be highly regarded. They will also have an active membership in a congregation or faith community within the Uniting Church or other Christian denomination.
