This role provides a unique opportunity for an experienced manager to lead the delivery of economic development initiatives that build the resilience of local economies, strengthen Sydney's competitive position globally and create a more inclusive economic future for Sydney.
In this role, you will lead a dynamic team in the design and delivery of economic initiatives that support business including capacity building programs, advocacy and sector development, grants and sponsorships and marketing and promotion. You will develop strong strategic partnerships with other government agencies, industry organisations, professional bodies and local businesses and work productively to achieve strategic outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will have extensive experience in the implementation of economic development initiatives, with proven experience leading cross-functional teams and projects. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills which will be proven by your existing and extensive networks in government and the private sector. You will have a strong understanding of economic development in a local and global city context.
You will also have relevant tertiary qualifications, at a degree level in economics, business, communications, marketing or a related discipline, with higher degree qualifications desirable.
