Job Description:How will I help?We're looking for a Senior Manager, Customer & Obligations, Business Controls & Monitoring for our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) line of business. In this pivotal role, you'll primarily manage and monitor Compliance and Conduct Risk matters, working closely with key and senior stakeholders to address control gaps and weaknesses.You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing monitoring activities within CIB, ensuring a robust approach to Compliance and Conduct Risk management. As a leader, you'll foster a culture of strong Compliance and Conduct, balancing our ethics and integrity with commercial and customer needs. You'll collaborate proactively with Client Coverage teams and the CIB Chief Operating Office on all compliance and conduct-related issues.As part of our team of Risk professionals, you'll ensure our business operations align with our frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and the Group's risk appetite. You'll support the business in driving a strong Compliance and Conduct Risk culture, influencing day-to-day business decisions and strategic initiatives.You'll act as the first point of contact for Compliance and Conduct policies and matters (including Conflicts of Interest) providing advice on business risks and issues. Your role includes driving regulatory change initiatives into business-as-usual activities, developing processes to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, and partnering with the BCM Value Chain team to ensure that relevant compliance obligations pertaining to CIB's operations locally and internationally are appropriately mapped and maintained in the CIB Value Chain. Additionally, you may be required to support matters and issues pertaining to other Non-Financial Risk classes (such as Operational Risk) as and when the need arises; as part of the broader Customer & Obligations team (and the wider BCM team as a whole).Supporting management, you'll consider the risk and control implications of key Compliance and Conduct projects, ensuring future controls are incorporated timely and cost-effectively. You'll facilitate regular monitoring and reviews to ensure operations remain within the defined risk appetite, capturing supporting metrics and thresholds. Partnering with the 2LoD Compliance and the Group Control Room, you'll drive mature compliance outcomes and develop key reporting for senior management to maintain oversight of Compliance and Conduct matters.What's in it for me?You'll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for 200 years. Your background should include experience in obligations management and remaining up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements, exposure to the management of Conflicts of Interest, and broader Conduct Risk matters. Experience within the Corporate & Institutional Banking business, or the broader Institutional Banking & Markets division, is essential.Your ability to build relationships and work as part of a team will be crucial. You'll need to be proactive, organised, and focused on outcomes, with a strong customer focus. Achieving objectives in a changing environment requires flexibility and commercial acumen. You should be able to translate complex issues into simple terms and communicate them passionately.
