About the Role:
In this role, you will be leading the coordination of high-profile Civic Events, ensuring they reflect Parramatta's unique identity and contribute to Council's global reputation. Your team will curate and execute events that showcase Parramatta's vibrancy and diversity, fostering community pride and engagement. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across federal, state, and local political arenas, coordinating events to align with strategic objectives and fostering partnerships with key figures and decision-makers. Your role will involve:
- Organising and overseeing a diverse range of Civic Events, including landmark celebrations and prestigious ceremonies.
- Being acknowledged as the authority on the subject within the Council, providing you with exposure across the organisation.
- Liaising with key stakeholders, including federal, state, and local government representatives, to ensure seamless event execution and adherence to protocol.
- Developing and implementing event protocols and standards, ensuring the highest levels of professionalism and etiquette are maintained.
- Managing event budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Providing leadership and guidance to your team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You:
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader with a passion for events, protocol, and community engagement. You should possess the following:
- 5+ years of proven experience in organizing and managing Civic Events, with a track record of delivering high-profile events to exceptional standards.
- A strong understanding of event protocols, etiquette, and government procedures, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Knowledge of the political domain and familiarity with key stakeholders, processes, and protocols at federal, state, and local levels.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational, project management, and budgeting abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Tertiary qualifications in event management, project management, international relations/politics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in protocol management in a leadership capacity.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $125,996 to $138,699 plus superannuation.
