About the role
Our Database team is responsible for designing, building, running and optimising database architecture for our customers.
As the leader of this team, you provide technical oversight, empower, coach and develop your team so they grow, and we do too. you will also provide input to customer's strategy and solutions as well as contributing to AC3’s standard operating procedures.
- Manage, maintain and improve the Database services for AC3 and customer systems
- Monitor performance of key components, solutions and services
- Compile weekly and monthly reports on managed Database services
- Provide input into the design and implementation of technical solutions and services for AC3 and its customers
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure the team maintains current technology skills and knowledge in their respective technology pillars
- Ensure operational readiness of new customers and services by driving transition activities
- Be the lead SME for customer and corporate databases
- Identify new technology, gaps and improvement areas promptly
- Act as a team escalation point for high priority team or operational issues/incidents
- Develop and maintain career development plans for all team members
Essential Experience
- Experience designing, building and maintaining database schemas, tables, procedures and permissions
- Experience working within an MSP or MSSP highly regarded
- Demonstrated expertise restoring and recovering corrupted databases
- Strong database performance troubleshooting skills
- Technical expertise in Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL servers, database high availability and disaster recovery design, implementation and on-going operation
- Understanding storage technology, virtualisation environments, public cloud environments, operation systems and networking
- Programming skills such as Shell scripts for automation a plus
- Strong communication skills and eager to learn, grow & mentor.
