Your new company
This large, fast-growing, diverse and established Municipality based in Melbourne’s Inner Northern suburbs, is currently seeking an experienced Civil Asset Management Engineer to join their supportive Asset Strategy team on an initial 3-month contract role, where you will assist in ensuring effective Asset Management practices, applying Asset Management principles, and maintaining and sustaining infrastructure assets in alignment with the Council’s vision and strategic goals.
Your new role
Reporting to the coordinator, your day-to-day responsibilities will be:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Asset Management Policy, Asset Management strategy and Asset Management plans covering all asset classes.
- Prepare renewal programs for road assets and other asset classes based on asset condition data analysis and in consultation with asset managers or service managers as appropriate.
- Provide engineering and technical input into matters related to Asset Management, asset protection, asset maintenance and capital works.
- Develop technical specifications for asset condition capturing programs. Coordinate the procurement process and manage asset information and condition data capture programs. Carry out Level 1 structural condition assessment on all council bridges and retaining walls.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful person will be a qualified civil engineer, with demonstrated knowledge of Asset Management working in a Local Government environment as well as experience working with infrastructure construction and maintenance (roads, footpaths, bridges etc). You will also have demonstrated ability to undertake investigations and provide recommendations covering all relevant asset classes and an ability to apply engineering principles for Asset Management.
