Analytical Chemist

Our client is a NATA accredited laboratory that provides an extensive range of testing services to a diverse customer base. Due to growth and a significant increase in workload their Melbourne team of professional scientists is currently seeking an Analytical Chemist with experience in testing for pesticide residue to join their team.Responsibilities include:

• Testing laboratory samples in accordance with procedures, laboratory protocols and quality system guidelines
• Testing in line with the customer requirements
• Prioritising workload to meet the required turnaround times for reporting of results
• Calibration and routine checks of laboratory equipment
• Contributing and assisting with the adherence to laboratory quality control and assurance
• Assisting in technical issues and troubleshooting
• Complying with all OHS policies and procedures

Ideally you will have:

• A relevant Scientific / Technical qualification
• Experience as an Analytical Chemist in a commercial laboratory
• Pesticide residue testing experience
• Extensive experience with a range of instrumentation. Predominantly GCMS or LCMSMS or both.
• Knowledge of LabWare LIMS
• A strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
