The role

The Senior Engineer- Strategic Asset and Program Management, will provide advice, guidance, and technical expertise for people across the Liveable Water Solutions (LWS) group, as a senior leader in the Centre of Excellence for Asset Management, Project Management, and Risk Management. You will have the responsibility of coordinating the entire asset management lifecycle for the whole of South East Water, including best practice asset management implementation across the organisation.

The position will also support program optimisation, project prioritisation, project delivery and governance across LWS; providing technical advice, guidance, monitoring and assurance with respect to capital programs, projects and their planning and delivery, to internal and external stakeholders, program managers, project managers, planners and engineers.

The objective is to ensure South East Water's critical assets do not fail and asset replacement and renewals are optimised to maintain service levels in accordance with cost and asset management plans.

Who are you?

To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Asset Management, Reliability), Applied Science or equivalent.

In addition, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience of asset management, risk management, health & safety systems, quality management systems and project management
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Victorian registration is preferred.
  • A certification and/or post graduate qualification in Asset Management and Risk Management is highly regarded.
  • Project Management qualification is highly regarded.
  • Working knowledge of international asset management and risk standards, IS055001 (Asset Management) and IS031000 (Risk Management).
  • Broad knowledge of standards and specifications, including relevant WSAA Codes necessary for the design, construction and condition assessment of South East Water civil assets.
  • Experience in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Bowties, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Reliability Block Diagram and related asset management techniques.
  • In depth understanding and demonstrated experience in budget management
  • Stakeholder and influencing skills for relationship with all staffing levels and consultants or contractors.
  • Demonstrate a high level of influencing and negotiation ability.
  • A high level of data and digital literacy.
  • High level of written, verbal communication skills including cost estimating, budgeting and financial skills.
