Your Opportunity
We have a seriously awesome opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Integrated Solutions Group.
This role sits in our multidisciplinary Engineering and Professional Services (EPS) who provide engineering services that contributes to integrated planning and delivery of a capital portfolio in excess of $1.8 billion over five years. EPS maximises value for the community and environment, by bringing passion, curiosity and broad perspectives with a focus on safety, asset integrity and sustainability.
As the Civil Engineer, you will provide water and sewer technical assurance to teams within Integrated Solutions and wider parts of the business, including the provision of Civil Engineering assurance and advice to planning, design and operational problems. You will be coached and mentored by our engineering leaders, whilst also being given the autonomy and trust to deliver effective engineering assurance on programs of work.
Some of your accountabilities will include:
- Provide technical assurance on capital interventions (including RAMP/TOC assurance, value engineering assurance, TMS departure assurance, right sizing assurance, capex/opex trade-off assurance, SiD assurance).
- Support a culture of innovation within Civil Engineering by contributing to solutions that boost safety, creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
- Supports monitoring of the external environment and assessment of emerging technologies to evaluate the potential impacts, threats and opportunities to the organisation.
- Design Civil Engineering assurance and the associated validation process to enable the realisation of project design objectives & outcomes.
- Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions, including Safety in Design principles, to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing to those in workplace.
About You
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Civil engineering degree, and work towards RPEQ accreditation (which Urban Utilities can support).
- Previous work experience in a technical engineering team, whether be in the resources, infrastructure, or utilities industries.
- You are naturally curious and are eager to learn about the water and wastewater industry, and how it connects back to customer and community focussed outcomes.
- You enjoy connecting with others, and you seek to create and grow meaningful interpersonal relationships as you appreciate how this drives collaborations and alignment on key objectives.
