The roleWe're seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Engineering and Design team within the Liveable Water Solutions group, on a permanent basis. The Liveable Water Solutions plays a crucial role at South East Water by leading asset planning, design, and construction initiatives. Embracing a whole business approach, we concentrate on both long-term strategizing and short-to-medium-term asset planning and program execution.
The Design Engineer will report into the Engineering and Design Manager, and will work across multiple projects at a time, providing technical support to any areas requiring design advice or review. Working with our highly skilled senior engineers, this role will help ensure both sewerage and recycled water infrastructure assets are designed, built and maintained to the required standards. This is a great opportunity to work across different teams, broaden your experience and gain exposure to many areas of the business.
Who are you?You're a passionate, tertiary qualified Civil Engineer with at least three years' design experience and exposure to multi-disciplinary projects. This is a dynamic, people-focused role, so it's essential that you have solid communication skills and the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across the business.
You'll also be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to practice as a Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria - mandatory
- Eligibility for admission to the Engineers Australia as a Member (MIEAust) - mandatory
- Experience in Contract and Program Management
- Sound knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, procedures and practices as applied in the water industry
- Experience in technical review or auditing of designs and concepts prepared by others
- Intermediate knowledge of Safety in Design principles, key OH&S Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice
- Basic understanding of Quality Assurance systems and processes

This role is open to Experienced Engineering candidates with a minimum of 4 years of post-graduate experience. Depending on experience, you'll be awarded the role at a Level 4 (starting at $103,795 + super) or Level 5 (starting at $114,846 + super).
