Based in Melbourne, we are a family-owned company engaging in the construction and renovation for both residential and commercial projects. With a strong pipeline of projects ahead, we are looking to an experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team. Your role will be working within a team, providing civil design and drafting support to our projects.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed drawings for Civil Engineering works according to project requirements using AutoCAD.
- Understand project instructions and prepare drawing documentation and specifications to meet the comprehensive needs of the project.
- Review proposed designs/drawings and ensure the accuracy and feasibility to meet industry standards, project requirements and safety regulations.
- Revise or optimize drawings according to instructions or changes occurred.
- Maintain register of drawings for projects including detailed drawings and records of design changes, revisions, and project progress.
- Issue drawings and documents as directed by Construction Manager.
- Provide technical explanations i.e. indicators and parameters to site personnel as required.
- Collect and analyse data, and carry out computations.
- May inspect works onsite to ensure the drawings is correctly implemented.
- Prepare drawings of completed projects and maintain filing.
- Maintain close contact with construction workers and project managers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in relevant field.
- Minimum 3+ year industry experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction techniques.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of the latest industry developments and technologies.
- Excellent time management, ability to manage multiple deadlines whilst working autonomously.
- Bilingual in particular proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) language is advantageous.
