About Us
Vivid Civil Engineering Pty Ltd is a Melbourne‐based engineering consultancy. Our small, energetic team enjoy working collaboratively with our clients and consultant partners to achieve great project outcomes. We are currently based in Docklands.
As a practice we work across a wide diversity of structural and civil engineering projects. Our clients include long standing relationships with architects, developers, insurers, councils & state government agencies. Locations of Work range across Victoria, NSW, SA and Qld.
The Position
We are seeking a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience to join our team to assist our clients on a wide variety of projects.
The Structural Engineer will work as part of the Vivid team to deliver high quality structural designs and reports, undertake research and provide support to the team.
The Structural Engineer will have a sound knowledge of Australian Standards, & NCC and strong experience working with drafting & design software, writing forensic engineering reports and an eagerness to learn and be involved in insurance remedial projects.
You will work across the team with Director, Engineers & Draftsman on residential and insurance design & forensic projects. You will have opportunity to build a direct relationship with our clients, sub‐consultants, and government agencies, and be involved in managing sub‐consultants.
The successful applicant will have:
• A degree in Structural / Civil Engineering;
• A minimum of 3 years post graduate design experience (preferably in Australia);
• Experience in preparing structural designs & mentoring / checking work of junior engineers;
• Ability to provide a support role in managing engineering project and co‐ordinating various sub‐consultants;
• Excellent attention to detail, report writing / written English and communication generally.
• Be able to attend site visits and manage clients & collect on site data suitable for preparing sound reports / designs.
• Understanding of the National Construction Code and Relevant Australian Standards.
