The client is looking to fill full-time permanent positions for skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Technologist to join a collaborative and culturally diverse organization who are experienced in building quality new homes and designing & building custom homes that are individually designed to the customers' specific requirements.
The client is looking for talented individuals with strong design skills and excellent client and staff communication skills. To be the right person you will have commercial awareness and project management understanding and you will back this up with your ability to provide excellent technical solutions and assist in the mentoring and management of engineering and support staff.
With capabilities across commercial, and architecturally designed residential projects, you will be ensured variety in this role, as you continue to diversify your skillset. Design and coordination will be a key aspect of the role, providing you with great project exposure and an insight into career.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years' experience in a Civil Engineering role
- Design, development, and construction of Civil Engineering projects
- Ensure projects are economical, functional, and meet relevant standards and building codes
- Liaise with specialist functions and key sub-contractors to clarify client requirements and ensure technical aspects have been adequately addressed
- Investigate and evaluate current work processes to identify area of improvements and implement changes to achieve better designs and reduce costs
- Inspect and supervise work at construction sites (to make sure safety and design specifications are followed and costs contained)
- Report and document areas of technical risk and level of design review associated with projects
- Prepare cost estimates and monitor project costs
- Interact effectively with other professionals, tradespersons, clients and stakeholders, to ensure that technology outcomes and developments fully integrate with the overall system and context
- Carry out surveying tasks (during various phases of design and construction)
- Interpret quality control tests and prepare technical reports
- Manage projects (including tracking progress, writing reports, and preparing invoices)
- Attend progress meetings or site meetings (to ensure deadlines are met and understand project scope)
- Assist the engineering presence, when required on customer visits for technical assessment, bid clarification, client kick off meetings, etc.
- Liaise with internal and external staff including other associated companies, customers with relevant information within the required time frame and in accordance with company policy
- Raise technical quotes and tenders for sales team when needed
- Multiple sector design experience in an engineering consultancy (residential, commercial, industrial) with a demonstrated knowledge of the relevant codes and standards
- Experience with civil design software
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Time management and resource planning & management in line with company objectives

- Experience in forecasting resources
- Relevant site experience including supervision, investigation, surveillance, site classification and subsequent report writing and sign-off
- Business development experience including tendering
