About the Role
We are looking for a Civil Inspection Officer to join our Civil Maintenance Team at the Shire to conduct visual inspections that will inform planned and urgent and maintenance of Council civil Infrastructure. This is a newly developed role to take us from reactive to proactive maintenance.
This position is accountable for developing and implementing inspections in conjunction with the Operations Technical Officer and Civils Coordinator, reporting, conducting analyses and maintaining quality records within the Shires EP system to ensure effectiveness, risk management and compliance against legislation, and Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
To be successful in this position you will need to be able to demonstrate:
Essential Criteria
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent proven experience.
- Proven experience in civils and operations environments and assessing asset condition/risk to inform maintenance activities.
- Proven experience in data input via IPAD and other systems.
- Scheduling work and inspection after completion
- Demonstrated experience (two years or more) within Civil construction, Utility Asset construction / maintenance or similar industries.
- Current 'C' class West Australian Drivers licence.
- Demonstrated sound oral communications and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment utilising programs and schedules.
- Construction Induction Training Card (Blue or White Card).
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance principles for municipal infrastructure works and services.
- Demonstrated use of asset and work order system and sound knowledge in computer literacy.
- Experience and or understanding of Construction drawings, and Dial before you dig plans.
- Experience and or understanding working within other Utility Assets.
- Understanding of WHS legislative requirements within the workplace.
- Knowledge of setting up reports.
- Good understanding of maintenance principles.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous local government experience.
