About the opportunity
Reporting directly to the Operations Managers the Civil Project manager will be required to plan, execute and finalise projects across company activities. Acting as the primary contact for external contractors & site mining management team this role will be responsible for coordinating project requirements, meetings, providing advice, recommendations, and mentoring to project team members.
This position will be an Adelaide based position with regular regional travel work required.
The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Foster a supportive, learning environment.
- Manage multiple key projects simultaneously.
- Handle all project contractual, technical, and financial activities.
- Analyse drawings and prepare work programs, timelines, and cash flows to ensure smooth task progression.
- Prepare subcontract packages and manage their delivery and close-out phases.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and material delivery schedules, adjusting work schedules as needed.
- Oversee quality control and efficiency with the Construction Project Engineers, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
- Manage and control project budgets, forecasting profit margins.
- Prepare and present project start-up, progress, and close-out reports for stakeholders.
- Minimise company exposure and risk by managing contract documents and advising on potential delays, risks, and costs.
- Prepare and enforce project, safety, and environmental plans per the company's Integrated Management System and OHS&W regulations.
- Participate in estimating for internal projects, advising on risks, and preparing necessary documentation.
Essential requirements
- Relevant Tertiary education in Civil Engineering/Project Management or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience in project management or site engineering with a civil contractor.
- Proven leader and mentor
- Strong Project management, scheduling, negotiation & Leadership skills including expertise in Project Management methodologies and tools.
- Effective decision maker and problem solver.
- Practical and goal-oriented,
- Demonstrates integrity, respect & enthusiasm.
- Collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills.
- Capable of prioritising effectively and managing shifting priorities professionally.
- Proficient in MS Project, word & Excel.
- Estimating experience.
Pre-employment
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake a National Police Check, a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and other checks to work at a mine site.
