Civil / Structural Design Engineer

We are currently working on an exciting opportunity for a skilled Civil or Structural Design Engineer to play a critical role in facilitating the design of the respective engineering aspects of a major capital project within the industrial manufacturing sector.
In this role, you will collaborate with our client’s Engineering group and Operational team to provide essential technical support and ensure the accurate execution of their projects.

Responsibilities:

As a Civil/Structural Design Engineer, you will have the following key responsibilities:

• Design and draft civil and structural aspects for the major capital projects, encompassing work scope development, layouts, 3D design, concept design, specifications, equipment selection, and as-built drawings.
• Experience in pulling together external modeling design into a cohesive model for further work.
• Manage the 3D scanning and concept model development for various aspects of the project.
• Manage the interfaces between multidisciplinary teams in a project environment.
• Work closely with external design functions to ensure work is managed effectively to the required time frames.
• Support the creation of technical documentation, including engineering reports and installation instructions.
• Manage the design and drawing process through a Product Data Management (PDM) system such as Autodesk Vault
• Support on-site activities, such as installation, testing, and commissioning, as needed.

Experience and qualifications required:

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
• Significant experience in Civil engineering design for heavy industry.
• In-depth knowledge of civil design principles, including fabricated steel structures and concrete pads.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
• Proficiency in Autodesk suite of tools such as Autodesk Vault or similar database tools.
• An understanding of relevant Australian standards for civil or Structural engineering and design.
