The City of West Torrens is recruiting for a motivated and experienced Civil Worker to undertake civil maintenance duties for the Council's property, infrastructure and amenity assets.
- Permanent full time role
- Salary Level: CWT 4 or CWT 5 depending on formal qualifications and/or experience
- Salary: $68,374 or $70,149 per annum (FTE) plus superannuation and annual leave loading
- 9 day fortnight
- Location: North Plympton
What you'll do
You will predominantly undertake civil maintenance duties that includes:
- Roadside and Reserve furniture maintenance.
- Minor storm water drainage activities
- General labouring
- Line marking
- Regulatory sign installations
- Playground inspections and repairs
- Minor concrete works to footpaths

As the nature of this role is very hands on, it's important that you can adapt to changing situations and that you embrace Work, Health and Safety as second nature.
Each workday will provide a new challenge, you must be able to work as part of a team and have good administration skills with regard to record keeping.
You must also have a minimum essential qualifications as per the following:
Essential qualifications for Salary Level CWT 4:
- Drivers licence – minimum MR (Medium Rigid).
- Demonstrated competencies in civil construction and or civil maintenance
- Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Essential qualifications for Salary Level CWT 5:
- Drivers licence – minimum MR (Medium Rigid).
- Certificate III or equivalent in civil construction and demonstrated competencies in all civil construction and maintenance activities
- Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
In addition, in accordance with the requirements of this role, a National Police Clearance (within 6 months of issue) will be required as part of the Recruitment process.
Note: The CWT is a COVID-19 vaccinated workplace, so if successful in gaining employment with the CWT you will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status indicating you have received your two primary doses (or three primary doses if immunocompromised) or alternately your SA Health approved vaccination exemption.
