An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Civil ConstructionMaintenance Worker to join Council’s Infrastructure and Environment Department to support the delivery of Councils Civil Construction and Maintenance program and associated activities across the Council region, located 50km from Adelaide CBD.
Based at the Mallala Depot and reporting to the Team Leader, Construction and Maintenance, this position will play a key role in:
- Carrying out a range of tasks and activities related to the Construction and Maintenance of designated roads, streets, car parks, stormwater drainage systems and street verges across Council’s region.
- Providing the community with well-maintained roads, streets, car parks, stormwater drainage systems and street verges that support their needs now and into the future.
- Ensuring the cost effective use of plant and equipment in the delivery of Civil Construction and Maintenance services.
To be successful in this role, applicants will need:
- A sound knowledge in Civil Construction practices with a Certificate III in Construction, or similar.
- Experience in plant operation, equipment, sign installation relevant to the role.
- Knowledge and appreciation of traffic management, risk management, quality management and best practice principles.
- Organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation of daily tasks.
- Excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
- Willingness and ability to work as an effective team member and contribute towards team goals.
