Job description

Casuarina Steiner School is looking for a full-time Class 5 Teacher commencing in Term 2 2024.
Ideally, this teacher will have training or experience teaching in a Steiner School and a willingness to continue the journey that takes the class through to High School.
Applicants must have NESA approval to teach in NSW and a current Working With Children Check.
POSITION TITLE
Class teacher; Full-time. Beginning Term 2 2024.
POSITION OBJECTIVES
The class teacher’s primary responsibility is to deliver the National Steiner curriculum outlined by the school. In doing this, the Class Teacher is expected to join and work in cooperation with their fellow teachers, the College of Teachers and the school’s policies and procedures. The teacher aims to be a figure of moral authority based on commitment, care for the children and a willingness to develop a close professional relationship with their peers.
QUALIFICATIONS
An appropriate qualification in primary teaching.
Current NESA registration.
Qualifications or training in Steiner teaching and a willingness to undertake continual professional development.
Current Working with Children.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The position is accountable to the Head of School and the College of Teachers. All class teachers become members of the College of Teachers and work with the College to ensure coherency and continuity in curriculum and impulse.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in planning and delivery of quality differentiated programs that positively impact student outcomes.
Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and the wider school community.
A commitment to enriching student learning opportunities by demonstrating a willingness to implement wellbeing and creative programs including music and the arts.
