About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Classification Engineer to join our Hunter Class (HCF) business unit based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to the Classification Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will perform system engineering activities including requirements management, functional analysis, system design, system analysis, integration, system tests, acceptance tests and certification.
You will oversee that the classification society's framework is embodied in the design.
More specifically, you will
Participate in ensuring that designs meet all statutory and regulatory requirements
Participate in ensuring that the shipyard meets all regulatory/classification Society requirements
Supporting the Ship build program to ensure Classification requirements are met
Support testing and trials activities
Provide design and engineering support to the project
Utilise domain, discipline and systems engineering knowledge to enable, support and deliver products robustly, demonstrating they meet their requirements and are fit for purpose
About YOU
A University degree level engineering qualification preferably within a System, Electronics, Software or Mechanical discipline
Demonstrated systems engineering experience coupled with engineering experience in a relevant discipline
Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment with demonstrated problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously
Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
