The Regional Classified Plant Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the regional CLASSIFIED PLANT management system in line with governing statutory authorities. Assist the regional maintenance team with the on-going improvement of Maintenance and Project management functions.

The Company has a mining and processing complex in Western Australia’s world-class Kalgoorlie goldfield region, including a highly prospective tenement package of more than 1,000km² surrounding the 3.8Mtpa Paddington Mill. 

Duties

  • Demonstrate Safety Leadership, participate in incident investigations.
  • Ensure the regional CLASSIFIED PLANT management system is implemented and maintained as such that plant & equipment is able to meet operational and financial performance targets.
  • Identify opportunities to further enhance and improve the operational performance of the Processing, Open Pit and Underground Mining Departments.
  • Actively promote and encourage safe work practices, provide safety related information, coaching and feedback to relevant team members & contractors as required.
  • Accurate recording of incident & hazard reports and investigations.
  • Promote positive working behaviours, in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing the long term maintenance plan, ensuring the optimal use of all resources.
  • Assist the Plant Operations Manager in the development of the
  • Maintenance Operating and Capital Budgets.
  • Ensure that the appropriate documentation including statutory requirements are produced and maintained to record the current condition of the plant and equipment.
  • Assist with the coordination of the development and continuous improvement of maintenance planning and preventative maintenance programs in conjunction with relevant Maintenance personnel.
  • Compliance with the 2022 Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations..
  • The ongoing maintenance of all compressors, air dryers, air receivers and cranes in the region.
  • Liaise with maintenance and processing personnel, suppliers, etc. to ensure optimum equipment availabilities are maintained.

Qualifications  

  • A relevant tertiary or trade based qualification with at least 10 years of subsequent relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience and management expertise in technical and mechanical fields.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in the use and execution of the 2022 Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations. and any applicable amendments.
  • Extensive knowledge in the above Act and Regulations specific to Classified Plant requirements.
  • Current unencumbered Western Australian C Western Australian drivers licence 
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)

Skills and Experience 

  • Extensive experience and management expertise in technical and mechanical fields.
  • Extensive experience in the maintenance of fixed plant & mobile equipment.
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance methodologies and asset management concepts, as applied to machinery and ancillary services/facilities.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, codes and standards, including the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 
    and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of project engineering for steps from feasibility through to commissioning.
  • Knowledge of project and contract management principles.
  • Extensive experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Extensive knowledge of RCM asset management strategies and their application to fixed plant and mobile equipment.
  • Extensive experience with the inspection of mobile & fixed plant assets and the identification and reporting of faults and issues.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical specifications related to fixed plant and mobile equipment.
  • Competent at performing risk assessments for engineering, maintenance and operating systems and projects and assisting to  implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Competent in performing compliance audits and inspections.
