The role of Cleaning Supervisor is to establish cleaning schedules and assign Cleaners under their supervision to varying tasks and duties, ensuring they have the right equipment and supplies to complete their work. This role will report to the College Facilities Manager to assist in maintaining high standards across the College and may include administrative duties to support reporting and quality assurance purposes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the same or similar supervisory role with the ability to train and lead a small team. They will support the College values framework and strategic direction, providing outstanding customer service in a professional environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishing cleaning schedules for Cleaners, ensuring that tasks are carried out effectively, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Inspecting cleaning equipment, storage areas, and supplies on a regular basis.
- Controlling and monitoring the usage of cleaning materials to minimise waste.
- Provide training, guidance, and supervision to staff whilst working in a hands-on role.
- Ensure all staff follow correct policies and procedure including reporting, hazard identification and risk management whilst actively promoting a positive and safe work environment.
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of processes and practices in line with industry standards.
- Inspect, monitor, and align cleaning standards with effective quality assurance practices.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
- Assist and advise in planning for term break periodicals and event support.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a current Blue Card or aquire prior to employment.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to train and lead a team (essential).
- A good understanding of WHS in the workplace.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a small team environment.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work under pressure, use own initiative to prioritise work and multi-task to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional customer service and a professional manner.
- Highly organised with an eye for detail.
