- Salary: $28.52 - $28.82 p/hr + 25% casual loading – Casual – WHA3
Overview
As part of the friendly and supportive team at Mount Gambier Hospital, you will provide a range of duties encompassing security, patient care, cleaning, catering and portering. Performing patrolling activities, both inside and outside and either on foot or by car, you will be responsible for the security of the hospital buildings, contents and grounds. You will also man security desks and control access in entry foyers and on secure levels of public buildings. Where required, you will assist with emergency response procedures and provide security at special functions. The security aspect of the role will necessitate assisting with clients, in such a manner as to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures. Providing assistance and guidance to other employees, you will also contribute to the general housekeeping, catering and laundry services of the health unit.
With prior experience in security roles, you will be competent in dealing with a wide range of people, including managing conflict and dealing with violent, aggressive or agitated people. With a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, you will be able to work alone or within a team environment, and work within set timeframes. You will be willing to provide assistance and cooperation to other staff, and perform under general direction or work under limited supervision. At all times you will be committed to using discretion and maintaining strict confidentiality.
