About the role:
The role of the Clinical Care Specialist is to assist and co-ordinate clinical support to a portfolio of Regis residential Aged Care homes that are based in Queensland.
The Clinical Care Specialist is the Subject Matter Expert in the clinical field providing guidance and advice to the homes in the portfolio related to Clinical Care.
Working closely with the Operations team (General Managers, Clinical Care Managers and Regional General Managers), the Clinical Care Specialist will assist homes to ensure that a high standard of person-centred care is delivered, while at the same time meeting all legislative and professional standards requirements. The role is responsible for driving best practice quality care through providing support to the Homes, coaching and mentoring.
The Clinical Care Specialist also works with other key internal stakeholders ensuring the support is provided in a collaborative way.
Other key responsibilities include
- Assisting with recruitment and development of Clinical Care Managers within the portfolio.
- Assisting and working with our Clinical Care Managers to coach and mentor them and their Registered Nurses at each home within the portfolio.
- Working with our Clinical Care Managers at our homes to mentor and assist the staff in identifying risks and implementing strategies to correct and address clinical risks.
- Assist in coaching the staff at each home in issues identified via the various Regis quality audits, troubleshoot complex Clinical Care scenarios and resources, and prepare reports of actions and issues.
- Ability to identify, rectify and assist Homes with actions on risks related to Clinical Care.
About you:
Showcasing your specialist skillset and passion for Aged Care, your experience and skills will include but not limited to;
- You are a qualified Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and rights to work in Australia (minimum 5 – 8 years clinical experience)
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership roles within residential Aged Care (or a related sector)
- Proven success managing and supporting multiple Homes (desirable)
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience using documentation and reporting systems.
- You have a robust approach to managing your time effectively and ability to work within deadlines.
- Ability to manage and engage with all internal and external stakeholders

- Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia
- Consistent with State and Territory public health orders and with Regis’ mandatory vaccination policy, all candidates must produce evidence that they have received the current (i.e. 2021) seasonal influenza vaccination or medical evidence to Regis’ satisfaction of an accepted clinical contraindication to receiving the influenza vaccination
