About Department
CGHS is both a sub-regional and an integrated health service, providing a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary services, including a comprehensive range of HACC services, through to adult intensive, coronary care and level 2 neonatal care. Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, operating theatres, day procedure unit, and oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and surgical services and subacute services including rehabilitation.
About the Role
The role entails delivering clinical coding services at Central Gippsland Health Service, aligning with the ICD-10-AM and DOH guidelines as well as Australian Coding Standards. The Medical Records Clinical Coder operates within a team setting, engaging effectively within the Health Information Department and across various departments to fulfill Health Information functions.
Duties
- Read, analyse and code in accordance with Australian Coding Standards.
- Work with clinical staff to ensure information is consistent and specific.
- Assist with internal and external reporting activities.
- Participate in quality improvement across Central Gippsland Health.
