Summary:
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical activities and operations in a healthcare facility. They collaborate with medical personnel to ensure high-quality patient care, identify opportunities for clinical process improvements, and provide leadership in implementing changes.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee clinical operations, including patient care, admission, discharge, and room assignments.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical trials and research projects.
- Review patient medical history and manage their care plan to ensure positive outcomes.
- Administer medication, manage patients' charts, and attend to their care needs.
- Interact with patients, respond to their questions, inform them of treatment options and procedures, explain test results, and offer support and encouragement.
- Manage and train staff, assign tasks, and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Oversee the development and implementation of quality assurance, risk management, and patient safety programs.
- Maintain and update patient health records and databases.
- Attend meetings and coordinate with medical directors, physicians, and hospital administration.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in nursing, allied health or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare and medical management.
- Experience in research, clinical trials, and patient-centred care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of relevant medical software and applications.
- Valid nursing or allied health license.
