About the role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to help assist with the clinical needs of our client based in Unley. The role will require you to work exclusively in the client's home to support their needs and that of the Support Workers. This is an ongoing casual role and will suit a Registered Nurse looking for 12 hours per week.
This role will be ideal for someone who has hands on experience in an acute setting and is looking to advance their career into coordination and management while working closely with the client. Tasks include.
- Confidence to deliver training and mentoring of our Support Workers.
- First point of call for clinical advice and enquiries.
- Conducting occasional shifts within the roster to support client needs.
- Assisting staff with managing and troubleshooting tracheostomy and ventilator
The successful applicant will also partner with our current Clinical Nurse Coordinator as well as our National Clinical team to ensure success in this role.
General clinical care needs of the client
- Pressure Area Care and Management.
- Bowel Care Management.
- Medication Administration.
- Suprapubic Catheter Management.
- Positive Behaviour Management.
- Equipment and safety checks.
- Tracheostomy and Ventilator Management (preferred, not essential)
About you (Must haves)
- Current AHPRA Registration.
- NDIS Worker Check (or willing to obtain).
- Working with Children Check.
- First Aid.
- CPR.
- Manual Handling.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
In Addition, the ideal candidate will have:
- Sound understanding and demonstrated experience in managing tracheostomies and ventilators.
- Exposure to individuals with spinal cord injuries and acquired disabilities.
- Possess an approachable leadership style that encourages communication and collaboration with specialists, allied health professionals and frontline Support Workers
- Ability to work comfortably in the client's home, as this is not based in an office location.
